Synopsis
A group of rich kid teens, decide to pull a prank on Milan, for April Fool's Day. The prank turns for the worst, when the date rape drug, that Milan was given, causes her to fall to her death. A year later, everyone is called back together to join at her grave, to receive a package. One needs to admit to the murder, or all will be killed, one by one.
Review
First of all, if you have ever seen the first one, do not pick this up. If you can't be convinced otherwise, go into this forgetting everything you know about the original. This isn't a remake, nor should be mistaken as one. The story doesn't compare, and the mystery is very predictable.
”Slow and Excruciating” should be this movies slogan. It doesn't even start picking up pace until after the first hour or so, and then, it only has about twenty minutes left. I found myself scribbling on a note pad, and sending text messages up until this point. I simply could not just sit there. I even turned it off for about a two hour span, and almost couldn't get myself to turn it back on.
The gore is minimal, and the story is pathetic. It's your typical slasher story, with a "twist" ending. Oh wait, did I just ruin the "twist" ending with that statement? Probably so, and I doubt anyone would really care. The only thing this film has going for it, is some pretty good acting. Other than that, it's laughable.
Wrap It Up
I'm cutting this review short, because there isn't anything I can think of that could be added, or would be worth adding. It's slow, boring, pointless, etc. The only reason I'm giving it any sort of score, is because it picks up a little at the end, and the acting is decent. Other than that, it's not worth the first viewing. If you're a fan of the original, pass this one up. It's an hour and a half of your life, well spent doing other things.
