Synopsis
Bizarre and disturbing images, matched with dark and distorted music and sounds, mark the opening to this, weird and gothic movie.

Our main character, Henry, is seen walking down dark allies and through the streets on his way home. He arrives at his apartment building, and is greeted at his door by his seductively beautiful female neighbor. She tells him someone called and invited him to dinner. With a quick nod, he goes into his apartment.

The dark and dingy, overwhelmingly small apartment is made for one person but is by no mean a suitable residence. There are strange things within the apartment; from the odd thing living in his pocket, to the things in the radiator.

He leaves to go to dinner, and this dinner will change his life forever.

Review
I heard about this movie from a friend, a long time ago. He said it was a very twisted, dark and morbid movie that would make you think really hard. And after viewing this, I would definitely have to say that he was spot on with that statement. This movie is all of that, and it's very artistic in a sense.

There isn't a lot of speaking in this one. Most of the acting is done through the characters reactions. In most cases, most of it will be difficult for anyone to understand. There are all these strange images that come to the screen and some of them you will never shake loose from your mind. It's quite a trip indeed!

Many will turn their head during the quite a few moments; either in disgust or because of the subject matter. I don't suspect that many people, who are up for slasher type films, will make it very far into this one. It's not exactly a fast moving film, yet it's oddly entertaining and haunting for those who finish it. If you have a weak stomach for things such as premature birth, deformities or abortion, you will definitely want to miss this one.

For the time that this movie was made, I think this wasn't something many movies really spoke of, nor wanted to chance showing on film. Marrying two young people, because they have a premature baby, isn't exactly something you'd see in other films in this time period…That I'm aware of in any case. But all of these things will leave your head in limbo.

If you have ever seen movies such as Donnie Darko (2001), you'll have a basic understanding of how this film will make you use your brain. You will be thinking about what exactly this film was about, long after you turn it off. Heck, I finished the movie about twenty minutes ago, and I still don't know exactly what went on.

Wrap It Up
This is a good brain teaser film. It's definitely not for everyone though. I would recommend renting it, and if you aren't able to get into it in the first twenty or thirty minutes, you may as well turn it off, because it's going to be just like that from start to finish.

This was my viewing of a film by David Lynch, and I'm not real sure what to make of it. Artistic? Yes. Good movie? Yes. Confusing? As hell!

Take this for what it is, and decide what the movie is about to you. My personal take; how life is enough to drive even the simplest man, to insanity and beyond.
